Our Team
Karen worked for over two decades for large insurance companies; first on the carrier side as a medical claims analyst, then marketing to small and large national group clients. She later joined a large brokerage consulting firm where she expanded her knowledge to include ALL insurance brands. She found her niche bringing the large broker capabilities to the small local clients who value her perspective and expertise. As a small business owner she understands the need to be cost efficient and the importance of the right insurance coverage and honest information. By allowing her clients to share their needs with her freely, she is able to walk at least a few steps every day in their shoes and to truly be of help when they need her. Karen earned her business management degree from Eastern Oregon University. In Karen’s spare time you can catch her in a Portland dragon boat on the Willamette River, taking her dog to the park, or working in her vegetable garden.

Taylor is proud to be born and raised in Portland. He graduated with a degree in Economics and played four years of college soccer for Pacific University. His ability to swiftly analyze information and his attention to detail make him a wonderful addition to the company for our clients. Taylor brings a consumer-oriented perspective to the industry with his background in health, economics, and social justice. He can be spotted around Central Oregon coaching and playing soccer, running his farm business, and exploring Oregon’s wonderful landscape with his family. His many interests keep him active throughout the area on any given day.

Lauren attended Western Oregon University, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and minored in Psychology. Lauren brings a background in physical therapy and customer service to our company. Her kind and creative attitude brings a compassionate and resourceful nature to the ISNW team. Lauren can be found with family and friends hiking the many trails around Oregon, spending time discovering local restaurants, and enjoying a variety of musical entertainment around the city.

Shannon is our Communications and Marketing Director. Shannon earned a BA in Political Science from Pacific University (where she met her husband, Taylor!) and a MA in Environmental Leadership from Naropa University. Shannon brings a background in community outreach, customer relations, and systems design to our company. Shannon can often be found adventuring around beautiful Central Oregon, managing her farm business, or homeschooling her two children.
